Susan's journey commenced when, at the age of 10, she began envisioning herself on stage, performing as a vocalist. Susan's passion for singing began to flourish when, at 15, she started performing solos at her local church. As she continued to sing in choirs, ensembles, and deliver more solos, her love for music and performance only grew stronger. As Susan's talents continued to flourish, she was presented with a series of exciting opportunities by the Bank of Montreal to perform at high-profile events, including Christmas parties and corporate banquets.
Susan Barnes' experiences in performing and singing helped shape her identity. It was during the late 1990s that Susan Barnes made a commitment to secure a foothold in the music and entertainment industry. Recognizing that music and entertainment were integral to her being, Susan Barnes utilized networking opportunities with singers, songwriters, musicians, producers, sound engineers, actors, and other industry professionals.
As a member of the British Columbia Songwriters Association (BCSA), Susan discovered a supportive community that empowered her to connect with local songwriters, unlocking her own potential to craft meaningful songs.
Susan's music career has been thriving, with standout performances at BC Songwriter's Showcases in Langley, BC, and T.G.I.Fridays in downtown Vancouver, BC, as well as notable events like the Desert Country Music Festival, a Christmas charity event for JRFM, and a New Year's gig at the Big Ridge Brewing Company in Surrey, BC.
Susan made Vancouver Island her new home, relocating from Vancouver, and is more committed than ever to creating, performing and practicing music! Recently, Susan launched her music career by releasing her first two songs, "What’s That You Say?" and "It Keeps Me Sane", on all major streaming platforms.
